Ghanaian striker Joseph Esso rose up at the far post to head in the 67th minute opener following a short corner kick before Samy Frioui converted a penalty kick late on to seal victory for the Green and Reds over the league’s last placed side. MCA keep the pressure on league leaders CR Belouizdad with the win, moving to within three points.
Meanwhile, JS Saoura returned from CAF Confederation Cup duty and played out a 0-0 draw against USM Alger in Algiers. The result does neither team any favors, with USMA remaining in third place five points back of CRB and Saoura holding tight in fourth a point back of USMA.
