Al Ahly have a slim lead and a difficult task ahead of them in Casablanca against Raja CA in order to advance to the CAF Champions League semifinals. The defending African champions won 2-1 in the first leg in Cairo last weekend but will be expecting a furious charge from last season’s CAF Confederation Cup winners, who have an away goal in their favor as they attempt to take down the Egyptian giants.
Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane stated that his team has plenty of respect for Raja but have defeated the Green Eagles twice in recent months and will not lose their focus for the crucial match. Mosimane notably refused to discuss the controversial refereeing decisions from the first leg in the lead up to what will be a firecracker of an encounter between two of Africa’s most storied clubs.
