Starting their camp with over forty players, Nigeria under-20 national team coach Ladan Bosso trimmed his squad down to 28 players for the final list who will travel to Niger for the regional qualification tournament for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. The WAFU-Zone B section will start their qualifying competition on May 7 and Nigeria is grouped with Ghana and Burkina Faso in Group B. The finalists at the tournament will qualify for the final competition which is set to take place in Egypt starting next February.
