Young Ivory Coast national team striker Karim Konaté’s transfer to Red Bull Salzburg from top Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas was confirmed on Tuesday with the 18-year-old set to join the Austrian giants on July 1. Konaté will move to Salzburg’s reserve side FC Liefering in the Austrian second tier for the 2022-23 season upon his move to Austria where he will gain regular playing time to help his transition into European football. The starlet had an excellent season in Ivorian and African football, scoring 13 goals in league play for ASEC this season while also contributing 10 goals between ASEC’s participations in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
