Osman Bukari moves from Gent to Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade

Following a season on loan in France’s Ligue 1 with FC Nantes from Belgian club KAA Gent, Ghana national team winger Osman Bukari completed a permanent transfer to Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade this week. The 23-year-old former Accra Lions player moved for a fee of €2 million after a successful season in France’s top division where he made 26 appearances, contributing two goals and four assists across league and cup competitions.

Bukari continues to break into the Ghana national team setup with six appearances so far, making substitute appearances in both legs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff victory against Nigeria and also appearing in both of Ghana’s opening matches in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. Bukari scored in a start against Madagascar before assisting Mohammed Kudus’ goal in a start against Central African Republic.
