Tunisia coach Louhichi releases list of 21 players for FIFA U-20 World Cup

The list of players who will represent Tunisia at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup was revealed earlier this week with coach Montasser Louhichi set to bring twenty-one players to the competition in Argentina. Tunisia begin their campaign on May 22 with a match against Group E favorites England before facing Iraq and Uruguay. Louhichi’s side qualified for the tournament after finishing in fourth place at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations played earlier this year in Egypt.

The most regarded players in the Tunisia squad are Al Ahly forward Mohamed Dhaoui and AS Saint-Étienne attacker Jibril Othman who combined for three goals at the AFCON U-20 in Egypt. Club Africain forward Adem Garreb and Brighton midfielder Samy Chouchane also showed signs of quality during Tunisia’s run to fourth place while Raki Aouani is another forward who is impressing in Tunisia’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle with current leaders Étoile du Sahel.

Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Chaïm El Djebali will represent the North African country in Argentina after making his senior national team debut in a September friendly against Comoros and previously representing France’s U-16 team. Ghaith Ouahabi will represent current Tunisian club champions Espérance ST and will line up deep in the midfield in front of the defensive line. French-born left back Rayan Nasraoui plays for Nîmes and Raed Bouchniba is another player from Espérance who has experience in the first team.
