Evan Ndicka completes move to AS Roma

Famous head coach José Mourinho committed to spend another season at Serie A club AS Roma and “The Special One” will be welcoming a new recruit for the 2023-24 campaign after central defender Evan Ndicka joined on a free transfer. The 23-year-old arrives from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in a bit of slick business from the 2022-23 UEFA Europa League runners-up. Ndicka joins on a reported five-year contract that runs until 2028.

Ndicka expressed his delight with the move, stating “I can’t wait to take to the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico in front of my new fans and to be able to give my contribution to the achievement of our goals.” A former French youth national team player, the Paris native completed paperwork for a nationality switch to play for the Ivory Coast national team, the nation of his mother. He was called up for Les Élephants’ latest 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Zambia but was unable to participate due to what head coach Jean-Louis Gasset described as “administrative issues”.
