On Tuesday every team in Algeria’s top division participated in the day’s fixtures with CR Belouizdad, MC Alger and second-placed Saoura among the teams emerging victorious. CAF Champions League participants CR Belouizdad demolished Mlila 5-1 with star players Amir Sayoud and Hamza Bellahouel each scoring twice. In Saoura’s win over Olympique Médéa it was 23-year-old Billel Messaoudi who was the hero once again, the Algerian Ligue 1 Professionnelle’s leading scorer striking twice to boost his season goal total to twelve.
League leaders ES Sétif needed a late penalty kick to salvage a point at home and draw 1-1 against USM Alger. USMA’s Billel Benhamouda sent a finish into the roof of the net to open the scoring in the 56th minute before Houssam Ghacha converted an 81st minute penalty-kick to end the match all square.
