Physically dominant center back Joseph Okumu has been a cornerstone of Swedish club IF Elfsborg’s defense over the past three seasons, and now the Kenyan national team mainstay is moving on to a bigger stage in European football. Okumu’s signing with Belgian club KAA Gent was confirmed on Monday and the 24-year-old will now get the chance to prove himself in UEFA competition with the team’s qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League for this upcoming season.
