Kamaldeen Sulemana becomes fourth Ghanaian to join Rennes

Ghanaian players continue to make headlines abroad for all the right reasons, particularly those who are graduates of the famed academy Right to Dream. 19-year-old winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is the latest Right to Dream product to make the move through the pipeline to the academy’s Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and then subsequently star and move on to a bigger European club, completing a transfer to French Ligue 1 side Rennes. The transfer was completed for a record fee for a Ghanaian player: €15 million with potentially up to €5 million in additional fees. Sulemana’s transfer breaks the previous mark set by Mohammed Kudus’ move to Ajax last season, another Right to Dream product who made his name in Europe with FC Nordsjaelland.
