Soufiane Rahimi’s spectacular 2021 that has seen him ascend to remarkable heights for club and country culminated in the 25-year-old’s transfer to Emirati club Al Ain FC this week. Rahimi was voted the tournament’s Best Player at the 2020 African Nations Championship as Morocco took the title and then went on to lead club Raja Casablanca in their capture of the 2020-21 CAF Confederation Cup.
Al Ain beat out rumored competition Al Ahly of Egypt for Rahimi as he joins fellow former Raja star Ben Malango in the United Arab Emirates. The 2017-18 UAE Pro League champions will be counting on Rahimi to help them return to the top of Emirati football after a disappointing 6th place finish last season.
