27-year-old Egyptian forward Hossam Hassan has joined current African champions Al Ahly from fellow Egyptian club Smouha on a permanent deal which was revealed by the president of Smouha, Farag Amer. Hassan, a former Zamalek youth academy product, is the all-time leading scorer at Smouha, accumulating 49 goals in 154 appearances before going to Libyan football with Al Ahly Tripoli on a six-month loan this season. The forward is the fourth signing for Ahly as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League season where they finished runners-up to rivals Zamalek.
