Zimbabwe and Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba’s resurgence of form and playing time for the English Premier League club has resulted in Villa and manager Steven Gerrard doing all they can to limit the games Nakamba misses due to the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Aston Villa and the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) have reportedly struck a deal that will see Nakamba miss the start of Zimbabwe’s training camp before flying in on January 3 after Premier League games against Chelsea, Leeds and Brentford. Zimbabwe starts their training camp at home on December 23 and will be in Cameroon by January 5, with their opening match on January 10 against Senegal.
