Nigerian supporters were grateful to see star national team and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen included in Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations and hear that he had returned early to training after suffering a facial fracture while playing for Napoli. However, the surgeon who operated on Osimhen’s face, Gianpaolo Tartaro, made comments that indicate it may be best for the 22-year-old star to sit out the upcoming tournament. Osimhen is due for another examination in Italy ahead of the AFCON and Tartaro stated that the window of recovery time for Osimhen’s facial bones necessitates him staying out of action for the competition.
