The final squad for Egypt at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is out and as expected, manager Carlos Queiroz’s player selection is causing plenty of debate and criticism as the Pharaohs prepare for action in Group D. Al Ahly playmaker Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” was left out of the final list as well as Zamalek players Mostafa Fathi and Tarek Hamad, all players who competed for Egypt at the recent 2021 FIFA Arab Cup. However, after a long layoff due to injury, Aston Villa’s Mahmoud Trezeguet is back in the national team fold and will be in Cameroon.
