Zimbabwe edged out COSAFA rivals Zambia by one point in 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying to earn their spot in the finals in Cameroon, but circumstances off the pitch may result in the Chipolopolo replacing the Warriors in the competition. The threat of a FIFA ban has been looming for Zimbabwe due to government interference dictating the country’s footballing affairs, an issue FIFA has come down hard on in certain cases.
