Cameroon manager Antonio Conceição expressed disappointment at his team’s penalty kick shootout defeat to Egypt in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations semifinals, but also praised his players for their effort despite falling short of expectations. Stating that his players were exhausted in the second half, Conceição indicated his team practiced penalty kicks leading up to the match but in the end the Indomitable Lions failed to execute.
