Mali handed World Cup qualification boost

Mali’s bid to qualify for their first ever FIFA World Cup received an important boost following news that the country’s home stadium has been cleared for use by CAF. The Eagles will take on Tunisia in a two-legged tie late in March and the last year has seen Mali unable to play home matches at their facilities, but renovations to the Stade du 26 Mars in the capital city of Bamako have been approved and March 25 will see Mali host the opening leg. The Star has more on Mali’s hosting situation as well as where Cameroon’s home leg will take place in their final round matchup against Algeria.
