DR Congo striker and team leader Cédric Bakambu declared that the Leopards have a “date with history” ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Morocco this week. The 30-year-old along with friend Dieumerci Mbokani will lead the Leopards attacking line as they attempt to qualify for their first World Cup since 1974 when the country was known as Zaire. Bakambu returned to French football by joining Olympique Marseille in January and has three goals in eleven appearances across all competitions for Les Olympiens.
