Nigeria strike confident tone ahead of Ghana matchup; Okoye remains in squad for second leg

Nigeria will be counting on a talented Super Eagles side to get the job done in their two-legged playoff round tie against West African rivals Ghana in FIFA World Cup qualifying this week, where a positive result is required from an expectant nation. Captain Ahmed Musa and manager Augustine Eguavoen declared that the team is determined to assert themselves on the pitch in both the first leg on the road in Kumasi as well as in the return match in the Nigerian capital of Abuja.

Starting goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was reported to be missing the tie due to illness, but while the Sparta Rotterdam shot stopper will be unavailable for the first leg in Ghana, Eguavoen stated that Okoye will remain in the squad as he attempts to return for the second leg.
