North African teams in excellent position to clinch spots in Qatar

Tuesday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff second leg matchups sees North African teams in excellent positions to qualify in four out of the five encounters. Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco all found away goals and will be hosting Cameroon, Mali and DR Congo as substantial favorites to finish the job in front of their home fans.

Egypt have a tenuous grasp on a 1-0 lead from their first leg win over African champions Senegal in Cairo but the Pharaohs will need to defend their advantage with all they have against a Senegalese side determined to win their first competitive match at the newly built Diamniadio Olympic Stadium in Dakar. West African rivals Nigeria and Ghana is the last matchup with a 0-0 draw in Ghana setting up a match with everything at stake in the Nigerian capital of Abuja.

The Daily Monitor summarizes each matchup in the link below.
