Since coming back from an excellent 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with the Burkina Faso national team, right back Issa Kaboré has been a crucial piece for ESTAC Troyes in the club’s return to France’s Ligue 1 this season. The 20-year-old followed up his Young Player of the Tournament award in Cameroon by starting ten of the twelve matches his team has played in Ligue 1 and it appears that Troyes will retain their top flight status, sitting in 14th place five points out of relegation trouble.
Kaboré, on loan from partner club Manchester City, spoke with Troyes’ website about the positive atmosphere in the locker room as well as his mentality on the pitch and the excellent support the team receives from its supporters. Following an excellent 3-0 victory over Lille last weekend, Kaboré and Troyes are preparing for a massive match at Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
