ES Sétif goalkeeper Sofiane Khedairia was massive for the Algerian side as they took out Tunisian giants Espérance in the CAF Champions League semifinals, delivering several excellent saves in their 1-0 second leg victory on the road that saw them through to the semifinals. Now the underdogs are turning their attention to Africa’s reigning champions, the illustrious Egyptian club Al Ahly.
The 33-year-old discussed the tough task facing his team, his counterpart Mohamed El Shenawy at Al Ahly and how he still harbors hopes of earning another appearance for the Algeria national side despite being in the twilight of his career. Khedairia acknowledged that Ahly are gaining form in the CAFCL and his team will see the Egyptian giants at their best in the semifinals, and also paid respect to El Shenawy as a goalkeeper who easily could have had a strong career in Europe with his high quality.
