Cameroon manager Rigobert Song released a list of 34 players who are in contention to take part in the opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches for the Indomitable Lions against Kenya and Burundi in early June. Captain and striker Vincent Aboubakar is not on the list due to injury while several new players have been recognized for good form at the club level including Didier Lamkel Zé of FC Metz and Franck Mbella Etouga of Asante Kotoko. After Cameroon federation president Samuel Eto’o watched dual national Christopher Wooh in action for RC Lens the defender has been included as well.
