CR Belouizdad did not have much to worry about down the final stretch of their 2021-22 season in Algeria’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle as Le Chabab had the domestic league title wrapped up with several games left to play. CRB finished up their season on Saturday with a 2-0 road victory over WA Tlemcen to give them seventy points, nine more than nearest competitors JS Kabylie. Housseyn Selmi and Mohammed Belkhadem scored second half goals in a first versus last clash before supporters took to the streets to celebrate the completion of the team’s third straight Ligue 1 title and ninth total in their history.
JS Kabylie, the 2020-21 CAF Confederation Cup runners-up, will be Algeria’s second representative in the 2022-23 CAF Champions League. JS Saoura finish in third and USM Alger ended the season on a six-match winning streak to wrap up fourth place and will join JSS in the 2022-23 CAF Confederation Cup.
