Mohamed Salah signs new contract at Liverpool

After plenty of negotiations between Liverpool and their superstar forward Mohamed Salah the 30-year-old Egyptian agreed to extend his contract for a further three seasons with the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League runners-up this week. There was much anxiety for Liverpool supporters with moments where it appeared that Salah was ready to move on including rumors of moves to clubs such as FC Barcelona. However, Liverpool went to long measures to secure the signature of their main goal scoring threat especially following the departure of fellow superstar Sadio Mané to Bayern Munich.

Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances for the club since he joined Liverpool in 2017 from Italian club AS Roma and was pivotal in the club’s push that saw them almost win four trophies last season. Liverpool won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup but came just shy of capturing the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League, finishing as runners-up in both competitions.
