There was an opportunity for either Al Ahli Tripoli or Al-Ittihad to finish off the 2021-22 Libyan Premier League on Saturday but a 0-0 draw between the Tripoli-based rivals has both teams still tied on points in the Championship Group round heading into the final day of fixtures on Wednesday. Both teams had a few shots on target each but in the end both teams have eight points and are even on goal difference, with Al Ahly holding the slightest of edges due to having scored five goals while Ittihad have scored four. Ahli will host the last placed team in the group, Olympic Azzaweya, at home while Ittihad host Al Nasr.
In the other two matches, Al Nasr fell 3-0 to Al Akhdar to give Akhdar keep their very slight hopes alive of sneaking into top spot. On six points, Akhdar would need Al Ahli and Al-Ittihad to each draw or lose while winning their final match against Al Ahly Benghazi. Ahly won against Olympic Azzaweya with a late goal that led to a long Video Assistant Referee review before being confirmed.
