The second day of action in Group A at the 2023 WAFU Zone B U-20 Boys Cup was completed on Monday and Burkina Faso stands at the top of the group with a perfect record. After taking down hosts Ivory Coast on the opening day The Stallions followed it up with a 2-0 defeat of Ghana on Monday. Rahimo forward Abdoul Ouattara opened the scoring and won the Boy of the Match award as Burkina Faso are two points clear at the top.
Ghana will now need to defeat hosts Ivory Coast to have any chance at advancing out of the group. The Elephants defeated Niger with a dominating 4-1 victory to bounce back from a disappointing result against Burkina Faso on the opening day. Oumar Konaté scored twice while Abdramane Konaté and Petch Camara also added goals to leave the hosts in a good position to advance.
