Qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup was set to start in June for African national teams but the Covid-19 pandemic has intervened yet again to suspend matches until September. Consulting with FIFA, the CAF Emergency Committee announced that it will re-evaluate and come up with new protocols regarding testing, particularly when it comes to pre-match testing which was a constant topic of discussion during the recently completed qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
