23-year-old Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haïdara has found success in a short amount of time during his progression from being an academy product of the Jean-Marc Guillou Academy in Mali’s capital of Bamako to current Bundesliga and Mali national team star. Now with his position of influence, Haïdara expressed his desire to start a foundation that can provide opportunities to young Malian players who cannot afford the privilege of joining a prominent youth academy. Planning on launching his foundation next June, Haïdara stated, “I want to allow talented young Malian footballers to make their dreams come true. We will give them a space to express their talent. If some of these young people break into the world of football, they will not owe us anything and we will not ask them anything either.”
