Abdoulaye Doucouré set for debut as Mali reveals WC qualifying player list

Mali will have a talented squad for manager Mohamed Magassouba to pick from as Les Aigles attempt to reach their first ever FIFA World Cup. Magassouba’s side includes plenty of players based in Europe’s top leagues and added central midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré to the fold following the Everton player’s decision to commit to the Mali team. Long holding out in hope of playing for France, the 29-year-old was finally convinced after previously rejecting the call and will join fellow English Premier League players Yves Bissouma and Moussa Djenepo.

Les Aigles will fancy their chances against Tunisia, a team they defeated in their group stage opener at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations before surprisingly going out in the Round of 16 against Equatorial Guinea.
