CAF President Patrice Motsepe paid a visit to Ivory Coast earlier this week, meeting with the nation’s President Alassane Ouattara while examining the country’s readiness to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. After a notable incident in Cameroon at the 2021 AFCON earlier this year where eight people were killed in a stampede outside the Stade Olembe, Motsepe acknowledged that CAF is assessing how to prevent similar incidents in the next edition but stated that he believes preparations are going smoothly in the West African nation.
