Sudanese rivals Al-Hilal and Al-Merrikh took part in the CAF Champions League group stage this season with both teams failing to progress out of Group A but leaked video from the Al-Merrikh camp has put the clubs at odds off the pitch. Merrikh vice president Mohamed Ahmed was implicated in a video that appeared to show that a result in one of the CAFCL matchups between Merrikh and Egyptian club Al Ahly was manipulated.
Merrikh have dismissed Ahmed from his role and deny any claims of wrongdoing, but Hilal stated their intent to file a complaint in an official statement on social media.
