Yassine Bounou wins La Liga’s Zamora Trophy for top goalkeeper and Best African Player

Morocco national team starting goalkeeper Yassine Bounou captured several individual honors this season with Sevilla FC on his way to helping the team finish in fourth place this season in Spain’s La Liga. The 31-year-old had the best Goals Against Average (GAA), allowing only 24 goals in 31 appearances this season for a league best 0.77 GAA to finish first in the race for the Ricardo Zamora Trophy just ahead of Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois. Bounou also took home the league’s award for Best African Player to complete an excellent season for the Wydad AC youth product.
