Nigeria winger Onyekuru returns to Turkish football following loan to Adana Demirspor

Nigeria national team forward Henry Onyekuru is set for the fifth loan spell in his career after completing a one-year move to Turkish Super League side Adana Demirspor from Greek giants Olympiakos this week. The 25-year-old spent three seasons previously at Turkish giants Galatasaray, scoring 22 goals in 71 appearances while on loan from French club AS Monaco before sealing a permanent transfer to Olympiakos. Onyekuru could not lock down a regular starting spot for Olympiakos and was in and out of the starting eleven with 1 goal and 1 assist in 27 appearances during the 2021-22 season.

Onyekuru’s loan to Adana Demirspor comes with a purchase option if he can impress. Despite some high profile moves to clubs such as England’s Everton as well as Monaco and Olympiacos, club stability has eluded the Nigeria national team player but his skill and explosiveness has shown at times.
