The final stages of the regular season are finishing up in the United States’s top two divisions with playoff positions to play for in both Major League Soccer and the USL Championship. Indy Eleven’s hopes of making the USL playoffs are a long shot but former Ghana national team attacker Solomon Asante helped his team’s cause by creating three goals in the team’s 4-3 win over Birmingham Legion, two of them by creating identical goals from corner kicks. Hartford Athletic’s African players were crucial contributors to the team’s 3-2 win over FC Tulsa as well to keep the Connecticut club’s hopes alive.
