Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom continues to make a major impact in the top division of American soccer as a dominating midfield presence but the 23-year-old South African scored his first Major League Soccer goal at a crucial time on Saturday. Blom curled in a perfect shot in a 2-1 victory for St. Louis City at Minnesota United, clinching a spot in the playoffs for the expansion club in their debut season. Blom is drawing acclaim throughout the league for the large amount of ground he covers at the base of the St. Louis midfield and is among the South African players in the league who are causing MLS scouts to take a closer look at South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.
