While star forward Wilfried Zaha was not in top form and producing goals, Crystal Palace were in the relegation discussion for long stretches this season. On Saturday the Ivory Coast national team player’s first goal of 2023 gave the London club the lead on their way to a thrilling 4-3 victory over West Ham United on Saturday and now Palace are far from fearing the threat of falling into the EFL Championship. Zaha was not alone on Saturday with Ghana national team forward Jordan Ayew opening the scoring before compatriot Jeffrey Schlupp gave Palace their third goal in a victory that saw plenty of goal contributions from African national team players.
