After a slow start to life at Qatari club Al Markhiya, Moroccan midfielder Driss Fettouhi is becoming a major contributor for the club in their return to the Qatar Stars League after gaining promotion for the 2022-23 campaign. The 33-year-old product of Wydad AC’s youth academy struck twice in Markhiya’s 3-1 victory at Al-Shamal on Friday and now has four goals in his last three matches for the club who are now certain to retain their top division status for next season. Fettouhi was a highly regarded youth player who moved to French club Le Havre at the age of eighteen after participating in a reality television show called “Golden Boot” in his native country and is excelling in Middle Eastern club football.
