Tanitoluwa “Tani” Oluwaseyi’s hot form makes the Nigerian-born forward the focus from this week’s compilation of goals and assists from African players in the United States and Canada. The 22-year-old moved to Canada at a young age and found success at the youth level as well as at St. John’s University in New York City. Drafted seventeenth in the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Minnesota United, Oluwaseyi played with United’s reserve team in 2022 before moving on loan to San Antonio FC in the second tier USL Championship where he is taking off.
Oluwaseyi came on as a substitute last week and scored his first goal against Las Vegas Lights before exploding with two goals and two assists in a 7-0 thrashing of Charleston Battery over the weekend.
