UEFA interclub competitions finished up their final qualifying rounds this week and will now proceed to the group stage with several teams having African players to thank for helping them advance. Slavia Prague in particular with their Nigerian contingent edged out Polish club Rakow courtesy of a goal from former 36 Lion player Moses Usor as well as the match winning assist from Peter Olayinka while Partizan Belgrade’s Cape Verdean attackers continued to produce including forward Ricardo Gomes.
