With the Qatar Stars League and the UAE Pro League taking the week off while the cup competitions took place in Qatar and the UAE, our recap of goals and assists from African players based in the Middle East is restricted to the Saudi Pro League this week. Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo is now in his fourth season in Saudi football and the former Watford star resumed his goal-scoring heroics for new club Al-Wehda after two matches without a goal. The 34-year-old scored a hat-trick in Al-Wehda’s 4-2 victory over Damac to bring his total to four goals and four matches since joining.
